June and July 2022. The Russian invasion is entering its 6th month. The entire Luhansk region fell to Russian troops after long weeks of constant shelling and fighting in the cities of Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk. In the Donbass and in southern Ukraine, notably in Mykolaiv, civilians who have not fled are suffering from Russian artillery, but also from electricity and water cuts, high fuel prices and lack of gas. Many are already worried about their survival when winter arrives. Also in the south, Ukraine's farmland continues to be deliberately damaged and burned by the Russians, heralding an unprecedented humanitarian crisis if a solution is not quickly found for the export of wheat and the cessation fires in the fields.
On the front, Ukrainian soldiers who still lack the means to counter heavy Russian artillery fire are holding out, but for how long? In Sloviansk, a unit from the region attached to the ?Special Operations Forces? is trying to gather as much information as possible about Russian positions around the city using a single drone. While waiting for the battle for the city, they also train every day to be fully prepared as more and more citizens leave the city.
According to OCHA (United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs), more than 5,000 civilians have now been killed since February 24, 2022 and 6,500 injured. Not to mention the number of wounded and killed soldiers...
